The First What if...?

In the early 1400’s the spark of science and discovery changed the world before art could slowly take hold of the populace. What would have been a slow transition into the age of enlightenment was instead an explosion of technological advancement. In short, the tech boom that we are accustomed to began before the discovery of the new world.

Now, it’s 1986 and the world we know has given way to NuWorld, a planet that still sits third from the sun but exists under an artificial environment. A race of super humans has been genetically engineered to fight the wars of the predominant government of the NuWorld, The Western Alliance.

The greatest war mankind has ever known is over and now the heroes of that war have come home. How mankind manages to heal the wounds of war and deal with its returning heroes will determine the destiny of every living being on the planet.

In the city of Metro, the capitol city of the Western Alliance, a pilot program has started where the most powerful Meta-Humans have begun to work with Law Enforcement. This is the story of those heroes.

The Western Alliance ARA1

The result of The Split has driven most of the Old World west. The Western Alliance staked claim to the largest portion of the North American continent. Life had just begun to take on a sense of normalcy when evidence of The Red Nation became apparent.

Survivors of The Split long forgotten, The Red Nation rose behind the shield of the still smoldering Nuclear Fallout brought on by the event that destroyed almost all of the Asian Continent. The near end of all humanity was the catalyst for the second extreme progression in technological advancement. Feats including weather control, gravity manipulation and of course genetic manipulation.

It was the army of scientifically created supermen that would face the Red Nation's cybernetic warriors and colossal war machines on the shores of the Old World, fighting to protect the countries that remained on the western edge of the continent.

When the war was over, only a fraction of the Alliance's army came home, some of them changed in dramatic fashion. The Alliance had to decide how to handle the sudden influx of super powered citizens, citizens being lauded by the public as heroes.

Four of the most powerful newly dubbed Meta-Human's volunteered to work for the Alliance capitol's Police force, as a sign of their ability to work and live along side humans as free citizens. The alternative is a lifetime of military confinement, used as weapons that would be shelved until needed again.
